Wake up to beautiful brows
How much time do you waste everyday trying to achieve the perfect brow? Cosmetic Eyebrow Tattooing is a semi-permanent treatment that takes your brows from drab to fab.
At Brisbane Tans & Beauty we know that every client is unique and we pride ourselves on creating a beautiful, customised brow design to compliment each and every client. We offer different techniques and styles to suit everyone.
Feather Touch Brows (Microblading) are created by tattooing hair like strokes through the brow to give the illusion of natural hairs. These brows are perfect for clients who are after a soft and natural brow look.
Combination brows are the perfect middle ground between feathering and ombré. Feather hair strokes are tattooed at the front of the brows & soft shading through the middle and tail of the brow.
Ombré / Powder Brows creates a defined, shaded, powdery look. Ombré brows are lighter at the front of the brow and gradually gets bolder through the remaining of the brow. While powder brows are the same density from start to finish. These techniques will give you a soft ‘just tinted’ look and are long lasting.
If you have previous tattooing please contact us prior to making your booking to see if you are a suitable candidate. In some cases clients may need removal prior to proceeding with our service.

What to expect
During your appointment we will discuss the different techniques and styles and what brow option we recommend for you based off skin type, bone structure, desired results and lifestyle.
We then custom design your brows using our advanced mapping techniques. This is not a one size fits all. We create your design to enhance your natural features, according to your facial features and natural brow shape. Once you are happy with the design and colour we will proceed with the cosmetic tattooing.
During your procedure we apply numbing to make you feel as comfortable as possible.
After the treatment is complete we will go over your aftercare instructions.
During the healing process it is very important that you keep your brows clean and dry at all times. Your new brows will peel and flake, this is completely normal and part of the healing process.
A touch up is required after 6 weeks.
Cosmetic Eyebrow Tattooing is a semi permanent procedure that implants coloured pigment into the dermis layer of the skin using either a blade or small needles to enhance the appearance of the eyebrows.
This will all depend on the desired result you are wanting to achieve. As well as your skin type, everyday lifestyle and skin health. If you are wanting a more natural, subtle look, then we would suggest either microblading or combination brows. If you prefer a more fuller, defined brow and are someone that usually tints your brow hair or pencils them in, we would suggest ombre or powder brows. Although not everyone is a good candidate for microblading. If you have mature or oily skin, we would advise against microblading.
Most people are suitable candidates for this procedure unless you are pregnant or breastfeeding or have a medical condition. If you are unsure, please contact us so we can best advise you. There are certain types of medication that are a contraindication to tattooing and must be avoided.
A topical anaesthetic cream and gel are used for numbing during your procedure. Pain thresholds vary from each individual person and every effort is made to ensure you remain comfortable for the entire procedure, however small amounts of discomfort is to be expected.
Cosmetic Tattooing is considered a permanent procedure. Although it will fade over time, the pigment will always remain in the skin. It generally lasts 1-10 years, even longer on some clients. Over time the colour of the pigment will change colour, this is your bodies natural process of breaking it down. Touch ups are required to “refresh” the colour of the brows. Some clients get theirs touched up every few years.
Yes, there is a 2 step process to having amazing brows. After your first procedure it is normal for the colour to fade and look patchy. The touch up procedure is designed to perfect the brows and reach the desired outcome.
If you have previous tattooing please consult us prior to booking. In some cases, a clients brows can be oversaturated with pigment (blue/ashy in colour) and will be too dark to correct. Previous work needs to be faded by 60% to achieve a good correction. You may need a removal first before proceeding.
Aftercare instructions will be given to you at your appointment. You will need to gently clean your brows with sterile water every 4 hours for the first day. You will be given aftercare ointment to apply to your clean brows, 3 times daily. You will continue to put the ointment on until your brows have stopped flaking. Avoid wetting your brows during this time as well as avoiding touching and picking them, applying makeup, skincare products and direct sunlight. You need to keep your brows clean.
Immediately after the procedure your skin will be slightly swollen, tender and red. Your brows will look very dark and bold. You may experience what we call brow shock. Over the next 2 weeks it will be a bit of a rollercoaster. Day 2-5 you will start peeling and flaking. DO NOT PICK THEM. Day 10-12, they will look faded and patchy, this is completely normal. By week 4, the pigment will have come back to the skin but may still look a little patchy in areas. Then you will be ready for your touch up.
We allow 3 hours for your initial appointment. This allows us to have enough time for your consultation, mapping, procedure and aftercare instructions. Your touch up appointment usually take 1.5-2 hours.
No, we are very firm on this. Cosmetic Tattooing is a high risk procedure with blood born pathogens. We take all precautions when providing this treatment, our clients are our number 1 priority and we cannot have any distractions in the room.
Sun exposure will make the colour fade faster. Try to avoid direct sunlight and wear SPF50 Sunscreen. Look after your skin and keep it nice and hydrated. Book in for your touch ups when desired.
